Motivated by a passion to step into their God given calling, Phil and Debbie Jarmy left their home in Tasmania in 1991 with their 3 sons to study Missiology in Melbourne for 3 years.
From that time on they became involved in youth work, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, outreach and community welfare programs. This was all done while they both ran their own businesses before they packed up again, moving to Thailand in 2004 to manage relief work after the devastation of the tsunami.
Ever since then they have volunteered in Thailand doing such things as working alongside children's homes, giving vocational training to young girls rescued from sex trafficking and setting up businesses.
This all led them to realise that just rescuing youth and children's homes wasn't enough in itself. There was a desperate need to equip these young people to go on to get jobs, raise families and have successful futures.
In 2015 they set up Hebron Youth Directions to do exactly that!
“True justice comes when those persecuted are empowered to become successful in the face of their injustice!”
