Orlaan
A new world

Hello everyone, my name is Nang Awan Leng. I was a trainee at the Hebron Youth
Direction Foundation for two years and completed my training in September 2024. After
that, my family and I moved to the United States. I am currently working two part-time
jobs at the same time, and I am able to do so thanks to the training I received from
Hebron.
I learned all the essential skills needed in any workplace, including hospitality
and customer service, which are valuable in every job. I also had the opportunity to
explore various vocational fields such as baking, cooking, and coffee-making.
Because I gained basic skills in multiple fields, I am able to work in different places like
cafés, bakeries, and restaurants. I got my job at a café thanks to my barista experience
from Hebron, and my other job at a dessert shop because of the baking skills I learned
there. Without the training from Hebron, I wouldn’t have been ready to start my new life
in the United States. The time and effort I invested during my training have benefited me
greatly, and I am truly grateful to Hebron for giving me the opportunity to be one of their
trainees.
